Beasts of Bugatti: nine W16 icons together for the first time at the Louwman Museum
From 10 July through 30 August 2026, the Louwman Museum will present the summer exhibition Beasts of Bugatti. In the Great Hall, nine exceptional models from the modern history of Bugatti will be on display, all powered by the iconic W16 engine. This selection has never before been exhibited together. With top speeds of up to 490 km/h and power outputs of up to 1,600 hp, the exhibition shows how engineering, design and performance come together in the most extreme hypercars of our time. From the very first test vehicles to record breaking models, the W16 engine is the common thread.
From experiment to record breaker
A special chapter within the exhibition is formed by the unique test vehicles. One W16 is wrapped in a Lamborghini Diablo! This experimental prototype was hidden for years by Bugatti Engineering, until the test car was unveiled at the beginning of this year. The Louwman Museum is honored to display this unique piece together with the very first prototype. At the other end of the spectrum is the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+, which was the first to break the 300 miles per hour barrier.
Technology and art
Alongside performance, there is room for expression. The Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Venet shows how art and engineering come together. Artist Bernar Venet translated mathematical formulas from Bugatti engineers onto the bodywork, creating a moving work of art.
A unique combination
The modern W16 models are presented alongside one of the most remarkable historic Bugatti collections in the world, which is on permanent display at the Louwman Museum. This creates a rare and comprehensive picture of the brand, from early heritage to contemporary achievements. During the exhibition period, the Louwman Museum will be specially open seven days a week from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Beasts of Bugatti is accessible with a regular admission ticket, at no additional cost.
