Lancia Appia Berlina

The small Lancia Appia family car is, according to some unfairly, a bit overshadowed by its larger and more luxurious siblings like the Aurelia and the Flaminia.

Under the bonnet there is an 1100 cc, typically Lancia narrow-angle (10 degrees), V4-engine. The steering wheel is on the right, a feature preferred by many Italian drivers at that time, because it made it easier to get in and out of the car at the edge of the pavement. The rear doors are hinged to the rear, to provide better access to the rear seats. The Lancia Appia was manufactured between 1953 and 1963 in three series. This car is a second series model and has a longer chassis and uprated 43 hp engine. Just over 98,000 Appia Berlinas (saloon) were built. In addition there was a limited production of coupés, convertibles designed by famous names such as Vignale and Zagato, and also delivery vans and pick ups.
