Lithograph on paper Misti, the pseudonym of Ferdinand Mifliez, was trained as an industrial designer and in 1890 he started working as a lithographer at Cheret's Chaix printing house. Work by Misti was often shown at the Salon des Artistes Francais. Counted among the best artists of his time, Misti was mainly known for his explicit and direct style. His powerful use of line and color and his dislike of superfluous ornamentation have inspired many young artists. This is the third poster of a cinematic triptych. In this poster we see a tense policeman who is now trying to keep a curious crowd at a distance from the Clement-Panhard automobile that so easily conquered the steep hill ("Voiture Clement – Panhard").
