Confrontation

Confrontation

Pencil on paper Arthur Becher drew at least four illustrations for a story set in the Southwest, some of which were published in the Pictorial Review of May 1920. Becher was a student of Howard Pyle, a popular American illustrator, painter and author. Tensions are rising in this depiction of an automobile accident. The lady driver has crushed a barrel that belongs to a lady of lesser means and a discussion ensues.
