From 17 December 2015 to 14 February 2016, the Louwman Museum presented the exhibition Willem Lenssinck - Horse-Power. In the Great Hall, nine monumental sculptures by the Dutch sculptor Willem Lenssinck were on display, in which he depicted the transition from natural horsepower to mechanical horsepower.

Since 1976, Lenssinck has been creating sculptures around the theme from horse to machine. For Horse-Power, he brought together a selection of works in which animal forms and technical elements from the automobile era come together.

The exhibition included, among others, Formula I Racing Horse, Jolly Jumper, Irish Bull and Origin of Species. The works ranged in size from one and a half to seven meters and were made from materials such as bronze, aluminum, granite and hardstone.

Willem Lenssinck - Horse-Power offered a remarkable overview of contemporary sculptures in which Lenssinck depicted the transition from the horse to the automobile.
