Lithography on paper Franc Malzac was a French painter, illustrator and poster designer. He studied art In Bordeaux and later in Paris at the École des Beaux-Arts. He first focused on landscapes, was then a drawing teacher at the Bordeaux Philomathic Society and later ran a studio for commercial and artistic poster printing in Bordeaux. Many of these posters were printed by the Charles Verneau printing house in Paris. This Malzac poster promotes a French aperitif. In 1904, few people had a car, and even fewer were likely to reach for a glass of Kina-Bris Absinthe liquor while steering their automobile with one hand. (A maneuver that we as a museum cannot of course endorse!)
