The Motoring Lady

Gouache on paper Harry C. Edwards, born in Philadelphia, studied at Adelphi College under J.B. Whittaker and at The Art Students League of New York, a legendary community of artists, under Harry Siddons Mowbray. As an illustrator and painter Edwards was noted for his historical compositions. His illustrations were used mainly for advertising, this one believed to be for the elegant and functional Adison-style, full-length, summer-touring duster coat.
