Oil on canvas C.B. Darst takes a paintbrush in hand to depict a road trip along a lake on a summer's day. One experiences peace, serenity and the feeling of being on holiday enhanced by the presence of a rowing boat idly floating on the lake. It would seem that the painting contains a subliminal message about the relationship between man’s innovation the automobile and nature, the automobile does not disrupt but rather enhances its surroundings. A tribute to the automobile and the freedom it gives us.
